Get that Edgy Industrial Lighting without the Wiring Nightmare [with 15% OFF]

This week I received a package in the post and it was one of those times where you forget you’re expecting something so it’s extra-extra good. If you didn’t see my snapchat story (eleanorfay92) this morning already, the package came from williamandwatson.com an industrial-lighting-made-easy company from Covent Garden, London.

They sell vintage filament bulbs, LED-that-look-like-vintage bulbs, lighting cable, lighting fixtures and lamps with dimmers along with lots of other industrial looking fixtures and homewares. I was lucky enough for them to send me a lamp with twisted brown cable plus a teardrop vintage bulb which are featured in the photos below.

The best part of the deal is that with any purchase from their site, my readers (THAT’S YOU) receive a discount code of 15% using ‘CMYK’. Offer ends 31.03.16. So happy shopping.

Now let’s talk about the product itself.

The cable is a brown twisted fabric which is 4 metres long. My first thought that it was a good length bearing in mind that the cable would have to run from a plug, up to a hook, curl around a few times fashionably and then hang down.

The fixing, where the bulb screws in, is an amazing copper colour which perfectly matches the brown of the cable on the lamp.

The plug comes with the information on which is always great for all those health and safety enthusiasts, I know you’re out there…

One of the best features of the lamp is it’s dimmer switch! First of all it’s a nice looking one. A lot of dimmer switches just look ugly  – this one is modern & works really effectively. Second of all, a lot of filament bulbs get VERY HOT, VERY QUICKLY and what I enjoy is that you can turn it down so that it’s less overpowering, hot and just bright really. It would be great as a bed side light, great for reading, that’s how I’m intending on using it anyway…

The bulb itself is a screw in, so even if you don’t purchase the fixing, it’s fully compatible with lots and lots of other lamps. I have a few favourite bulbs that williamandwatson.com sell, the diamond bulb being one of them as well as the teardrop show below, make sure to check that one out.

When it’s all put together, the bulb, the fixing, the dimmer & the wire, the effect of industrial lighting can change your entire room. And because it’s a lamp, there’s absolutely no messing around with drilling or fixing anything, it’s just plugging in! HOW GOOD IS THAT?
